A Suffolk care home has been recognized as one of the best in the UK after being given an ‘outstanding’ rating following an inspection by the care watchdog.
RMBI Care Company Home Cornwallis Court, in Hospital Road, Bury St Edmunds, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in July and a report following the visit found that management said: “He led by example and put people at the heart of his service.”
Inspectors also found that the home values people’s views and that their views are used to inform plans to improve services.
The report said: “People were cared for by a dedicated and caring team of staff who were highly valued and valued.”
Inspectors also described the place of worship’s “warm and homely environment” and said “people were supported by staff, including activity staff, who had the skills to meet their individual needs”.

Cornwallis Court provides residential care, nursing care and dementia residential support for up to 57 residents and is currently in the top 5% of care homes in the UK with the highest rating by the CQC. ____ is inside.
It is also the fourth care home run by the RMBI Care Co. charity to be rated ‘outstanding’.
Denis O’Brien, home manager at Cornwallis Court, said: “We are delighted to have received the ‘outstanding’ rating from the CQC.
“Our staff is passionate about supporting the health and well-being of our residents and helping them live their fullest lives.”
Planning permission is currently in progress to build a new care home on the site of an existing home, as the current building has limitations due to its age.
The new housing will be built in phases to allow residents to continue living in the facility and will be designed to meet the needs of seniors.
