Beckenham Hospital has been rated ‘Good’ following the latest CQC inspection.

Sloan Hospital, on Albermarle Road, received a good rating because it had enough staff to care for and keep patients safe.

Inspectors found that staff were trained in key skills and understood how to protect patients from abuse.

At Sloan Hospital, inspectors said the risk of infection was well controlled.

The CQC said staff assessed and acted on the risks to patients, managed the safety incident and learned lessons from it.

They also recognized that appropriate care and treatment was provided and that staff made sure patients had enough to eat and drink and administered pain medication when necessary.

The CQC reported that managers monitored the effectiveness of services, ensured that staff were competent, and that staff worked together in the interests of patients and supported decision-making about care.

Inspectors found that staff at this hospital treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, considered their individual needs and helped them understand their condition. I discovered that.

They provided emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers.

The CQC added that the service planned care to meet the needs of local residents, considered patients’ individual needs and made it easy for people to provide feedback.

Inspectors observed that people were able to access services when they needed them and did not have to wait long for treatment.

He added that staff understand the service’s vision and values and how to apply them to their work.

Staff at the hospital told CQC they felt respected, supported and valued.

They focused on the needs of the patients receiving their care.

Staff were clear about their roles and responsibilities.

However, CQC inspectors found that some services at the hospital relied on agency staff to ensure staffing levels were safe, and that services were inconsistent across the board when it came to record-keeping. I found it lacking in sex.

Inspectors also found that not all services have clear written procedures for guiding staff on patient care, and that not all departments’ risk assessments are kept up to date. He pointed out that it was not.

Sloan Hospital Executive Director Hannah Dyer said: “We are delighted that the CQC inspection has given us a ‘good’ rating.

“This reflects the hard work and dedication of our hospital and corporate team staff.

“The last few years have been challenging for healthcare professionals, but it is incredibly rewarding to be recognized for the difference our culture and delivery of care is making to the patients we care for. That’s true.

“We are committed to continuing our efforts to provide the best possible care to our patients in Bromley and further afield.”
