Minehead Care Home scores high at Great British Care Awards

A Minehead care home is celebrating a huge success at a national awards ceremony.

Dunster Lodge has received over 40 nominations for the Great British Care Awards from professionals, residents and their relatives.

In November 2023, the home won the Care Home Employer of the Year Award and was highly commended in the Care Home Team Award at a regional ceremony in Bristol.

On March 22, they headed to the ICC in Birmingham for a national event.

They took second place and were once again praised for their great work.

The team at Dunster Lodge were delighted to bring these accolades back to their property.

The National Great British Care Award said: ‘The entire management team has demonstrated the best qualities of a great employer.

“They balance care for staff and residents, and this care is recognized in the community.

“More than just employment, they serve as supportive mentors.

“They are ready to go the extra mile when faced with a challenge, demonstrating unwavering confidence and incredible dedication to the team.”

Dunster Lodge is a small house in Alcombe, Minehead.

Margaret Hayes is the owner and Dariana Gould is the registered manager.

They also run Dunster Lodge in the Community Ltd, which provides person-centred care in people’s homes.

Dunster Lodge in the Community Ltd has been rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC.
