County Durham care home ranked in top 20 in the North East for third consecutive year

A care home in County Durham has been ranked in the top 20 best care homes in the North East for the third year in a row.

HC-One’s Melbury Court Care Home in Durham received the award as part of’s annual regional Care Home Awards. This award is chosen by a vote of residents and their relatives.

The 87-bed home was recognized for the high quality of care it provides in residential, nursing and dementia services to the community.

We previously received a ‘Good’ report from the CQC in 2020 for our effective care, which was safe, caring, well-led and responsive.

Melbury Court received an overall rating of 9.9/10 based on independent reviews.

Nicola Durham, home manager at Melbury Court, said: “Our residents and their families, friends and loved ones are always at the heart of everything we do at Melbury Court, so we want the world to know that they recognize Melbury Court’s dedication and compassionate care. HC-One care homes have won nine Top 20 awards over the years since their establishment in 2011.
